She is skilled in practicing holistic and\u00a0 functional medicine using evidence-based alternative and integrative therapies for the full spectrum of patient-centered care.<\/p><p>Dr. D is also a Board-Certified Physician Associate\/Assistant with the NCCPA receiving her degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2003. She has exceptional professional and clinical experience since 2003 working in Cardiology, Urgent Care, Telemedicine\/Virtual Medicine, Family Medicine, and as a Clinical\/Educational Director for Concierge Medical Services.<\/p><p>Her true passion for holistic healthcare began several years ago when her family was stationed overseas for a work assignment and her son contracted Dengue fever. This is a serious, life-threatening, tropical mosquito-borne illness which could cause severe complications or ultimately death. Not knowing much about tropical illnesses, she started researching on her own and sought advice from all the specialists she could find. She became disappointed that no cure or treatments were available, aside from hydration. She then turned to alternative care and started researching the medicinal properties of different plants. She found various herbs and plants that she could combine into pastes or juices and began using these on her son. This homemade herbal and natural \u201cmedicine\u201d started working and his blood counts turned around and he was soon on the road to recovery! From this moment onwards, Dr. D knew that there was another way aside from just conventional care.
